Services and Rates

Our standard services and service rates as of 2008 are as follows:

* * all service rates carry a minimum charge of 1 hour

* * * hardware installations apply to shop service only, and assume you supply the hardware in question. On-site service will be charged the applicable on-site service rate only.

1. Windows Reinstall - Customer must supply valid and legal Operating System key or license.  This service includes installation of the Operating System, current (free) Antivirus software, and drivers for devices on hand, ie - you may be required to install your printer drivers when you have the system in your home or office. No other software install is performed nor implied. This rate is for shop service only, on-site installations will be charged the Standard On-site rate as noted on this page.

2. System Cleanup -  Removing some spyware may render some applications unusable, ie: P2P software such as Kazaa, Ares, etc.  Micro Computer Service is not responsible nor liable for such software. It is the customer's responsibility to re-install such software if they wish to remain using it, or request leaving it on the system.  Inspection and Cleanup applies to functional systems only - this is not troubleshooting erratic, misconfigured or non-working systems. All systems will be checked to be functional while customer is on premises.
System cleanup also includes physical cleaning of the computer's internal parts, re-greasing and seating the CPU, cable and internal component inspection.
This rate is for shop service only, on-site service will be charged the Standard On-site rate as noted on this page.

3. Component Installation - this charge covers installation of the component, driver location and download if necessary, as well as proper configuration and setup. 

4. Mainboard Installation - Micro Computer Service is not responsible for Operating System problems arising from swapping out complete motherboards. We will attempt to make the installed Operating System work with the new hardware, but sometimes the only solution is by performing a complete Operating System re-install - which the customer will be responsible for.

5. Data recovery/restore applies to application data only (pictures, music, documents, ...) - this does not include installed application (ie: Microsoft Office, graphics software, accounting software, ...). The customer is responsible for re-installing the applications they use once the system is returned.

6. High-speed Internet installation - this fee assumes you have all the necessary hardware on-site to perform the required service. Additional hardware will be charged at the retail value of the hardware needed in addition to this service fee.
